Well the time has finally come! 29 hours from now I will be struggling to wake up...or already awake because I was too anxious/excited to sleep, and heading out for the airport. I am already feeling so grateful for the amazing friends and family I have. Everyone has been so incredibly supportive of my decision to do this, and I could not be more thankful for that. I can't wait to share my experience with all of you!
It still seems crazy to me that I will be traveling over 8,000 miles, to a continent I have only seen on the discovery channel, to fulfill a major dream of mine to not only travel the world, but to be teaching and helping the deserving children of Africa. I am so fortunate to even be able to say at 19 years old I doing something like this. Luckily, I have one of my best friends who is equally as crazy and has the same wanderlust I have...because I probably could not have done this without knowing I'd have her by my side.
I have never blogged before, but I figured this would be the best way to informally keep up with everyone, and tell you what I have been up to throughout the month since I won't be able to communicate as much as I'd like to. I am going to try and write something everyday...but we will see how well I am at that!
I'm not sure how to end this so...until next time!
